ABOUT THIS RETREAT

INTRODUCTION 

What can you expect from a Morna SUP YOGA & HEALTH retreat? Well, if the words fun, health, lifestyle, making friends and great food appeal to you then this retreat is definitely for you! We have put together an action packed itinerary with plenty of time to relax that will leave you so inspired you’ll be bursting with renewed energy by the end of the week.

LIFESTYLE
Just imagine experiencing the fun and freedom of practicing your yoga workouts on a stand up paddle board in the warmth of the Mediterranean sun. Feeling connected to nature and listening to the sounds of the sea (although we are not too ‘floaty’ we do love a bit of meditation, inner peace and balance in our lives).

EXERCISE
Whether you are new to SUP Yoga, an improver or require a more challenging workout, the daily programme has been designed by Anna our SUP yoga instructor to improve your technique and increase core strength and flexibility whilst having fun. Every day we will take to the water to practice or improve your SUP skills while exploring the stunning coastline this island has to offer. After the ‘active’ part we will pick a quiet spot and enjoy a one hour yoga session on the boards. SUP Yoga is different and more challenging than a studio workout. It is a great way of exercising and de-cluttering your mind as you focus on core muscles that are required to work harder as they balance and support you on the gently lapping water. We promise you that yoga on a SUP board in turquoise blue waters makes an invigorating change from the yoga studio!

Unlike some SUP schools we do not stay in one place. The daily sessions will start from different beaches keeping things adventurous, interesting and most of all giving you an insight into how breathtakingly beautiful this island is when discovering it from the water. Our teachers will ensure that novice SUP’s will rapidly gain enough skills and confidence so that they can enjoy the sessions alongside the more experienced boarders in no time. By the end of the week everyone will be confident on the paddle boards and able to participate and enjoy the sunset SUP excursion on the final day like the pros! In addition, daily optional Yin or Power yoga classes with Anneke are available on the outdoor yoga deck or by the pool.

DISCOVER
We have some great excursions and activities planned too – more workshops, a morning sunlight yoga session at the fabulous Amante Beach Club followed by a healthy breakfast enjoying the stunning views. A visit to the candlelit night market at Las dallias where you can get a taste for the warm atmosphere and true hippy vibe the island is so famous for. See some of Ibiza’s gorgeous nature during a guided silent meditation walk with Rhona that will finish with a picnic brunch in a beauty spot. We will have lunch in the gorgeous gardens of the iconic ‘La Paloma’ restaurant and on the final night we will take a sunset boat excursion, sailing to a stunning location to SUP yoga while the sun sets on our boards.

RELAX
We haven’t missed out on relaxation either – during the course of the week everyone will get to enjoy a holistic aroma therapy massage by the lovely Laura. In addition to this there will be plenty of time to lounge by the pool or read your book by the pond.

HEALTHY FOOD
So what else apart from SUP Yoga, meditation, fun, exploring the island and relaxation? We are really into healthy food and have a passion for living food, amazing flavours and beautiful looking dishes. So we have teamed up with some incredible local chefs (you will love these guys) who will cook up a storm during the week. All meals are 50% RAW food 50% Vegan. For the people convinced RAW and Vegan food is boring, only served cold, not filling and tasteless we have made it our mission to prove this couldn’t be further from the truth! Expect burgers, sushi and mouthwatering guilt free cheesecake desserts that will leave you yearning for seconds. Also included in the retreat programme is a fun and interactive workshop with our chefs – where  you will learn how to cook RAW meals, make healthy bread and amazing tasty RAW and vegan desserts. To boost your immune system you will enjoy a cold pressed green juice daily – all made with local fruit and vegetables and bursting with flavour, living enzymes and lots of goodness.

At Morna we want you to experience your retreat as a team. Regardless of whether you come on your own or with someone you know, this week is all about creating lasting memories together and feeling part of a group.
